The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Puttur plotted against Karnataka and India. The SNDi of new construction in Puttur rose steadily, compared to Karnataka which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and India which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Puttur's incremental SNDi rose from 4.61 to 4.9 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Puttur ranked 86th out of 96 cities in Karnataka and 1141st out of 1868 in India as of 2020.

In new street additions, Puttur built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Chaibasa fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Pleasanton built increasingly connected streets over time. For the full network, Puttur became progressively more disconnected, while Chaibasa fluctuated in connectivity and Pleasanton became progressively more connected. Notably, Puttur had a more connected network than Pleasanton in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
