The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Zhudong plotted against Taiwan and Taiwan. The SNDi of new construction in Zhudong rose steadily, compared to Taiwan which rose steadily and Taiwan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Zhudong's incremental SNDi rose from 3.93 to 4.97 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Zhudong ranked 12th out of 15 cities in Taiwan and 18th out of 21 in Taiwan as of 2020.

In new street additions, Zhudong and Otavalo both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Pafos built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Zhudong and Otavalo have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
