What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Esmeraldas and Guaymas both fluctuated in street-construction patterns, while Xinle built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Xinle and Guaymas both became progressively more disconnected, while Esmeraldas grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Esmeraldas and Xinle have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
