The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Jiuquan plotted against Gansu and China. The SNDi of new construction in Jiuquan peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Gansu which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Jiuquan's incremental SNDi fell from 3.15 to 3.1 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Jiuquan ranked 5th out of 29 cities in Gansu and 1040th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Jiuquan built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Kabwe built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Fomboni built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Jiuquan and Kabwe both became progressively more disconnected, while Fomboni grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved.
