The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with `Abs plotted against Hajjah and Yemen. The SNDi of new construction in `Abs rose steadily, compared to Hajjah which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease and Yemen which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, `Abs's incremental SNDi rose from 4.28 to 5.41 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, `Abs ranked 2nd out of 5 cities in Hajjah and 36th out of 58 in Yemen as of 2020.

In new street additions, `Abs and El Progreso both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Abohar fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. `Abs and Abohar have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
