The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Tarim plotted against Hadramawt and Yemen. The SNDi of new construction in Tarim peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Hadramawt which rose steadily and Yemen which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Tarim's incremental SNDi fell from 3.38 to 3.22 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Tarim ranked 2nd out of 7 cities in Hadramawt and 10th out of 58 in Yemen as of 2020.

In new street additions, Tarim built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Liangshan fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Ain Oussara fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Tarim and Ain Oussara both became progressively more disconnected, while Liangshan became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Tarim and Liangshan have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
