Đồng Hới in context: Street-network sprawl trends

The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Đồng Hới plotted against Quảng Bình and Vietnam. The SNDi of new construction in Đồng Hới followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Quảng Bình which was at its lowest in 1991-2005 and Vietnam which rose steadily. Most recently, Đồng Hới's incremental SNDi rose from 2.83 to 3.09 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Đồng Hới ranked 1st out of 1 cities in Quảng Bình and 4th out of 126 in Vietnam as of 2020.

For the full network, Đồng Hới and Colatina both became progressively more disconnected, while Fuyuan became progressively more connected. Đồng Hới and Fuyuan have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
