The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Phủ Lý plotted against Hà Nam and Vietnam. The SNDi of new construction in Phủ Lý peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Hà Nam which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease and Vietnam which rose steadily. Most recently, Phủ Lý's incremental SNDi fell from 4.99 to 4.17 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Phủ Lý ranked 1st out of 2 cities in Hà Nam and 79th out of 126 in Vietnam as of 2020.

In new street additions, Phủ Lý built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Yucheng built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns and Mirpur Mathelo built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Phủ Lý grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Yucheng became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards and Mirpur Mathelo became progressively more connected. Notably, Phủ Lý had a more connected network than Mirpur Mathelo in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
