The SNDi of new construction in Phú Mỹ was at its lowest in 1976-1990, compared to Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Vietnam which rose steadily. Most recently, Phú Mỹ's incremental SNDi rose from 3.65 to 4.14 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Phú Mỹ ranked 3rd out of 4 cities in Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu as of 2020.

In new street additions, Phú Mỹ built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns, while Yuanzhou fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Larache built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Phú Mỹ became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards, while Yuanzhou fluctuated in connectivity and Larache became progressively more disconnected. Notably, Phú Mỹ had a more sprawly network than Yuanzhou in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
