The SNDi of new construction in Puerto Escondido rose steadily, compared to Zulia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Venezuela which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Puerto Escondido's incremental SNDi rose from 2.82 to 3.21 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Puerto Escondido ranked 2nd out of 9 cities in Zulia and 9th out of 70 in Venezuela as of 2020.

While Lianhua and Little Elm both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, Puerto Escondido built increasingly disconnected streets over time in new street additions. For the full network, Puerto Escondido became progressively more disconnected, while Lianhua grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Little Elm grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Notably, Puerto Escondido had a more sprawly network than Lianhua in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
