The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Machiques plotted against Zulia and Venezuela. The SNDi of new construction in Machiques rose steadily, compared to Zulia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Venezuela which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Machiques's incremental SNDi rose from 2.34 to 3.32 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Machiques ranked 1st out of 9 cities in Zulia and 2nd out of 70 in Venezuela as of 2020.

In new street additions, Machiques built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Chust fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Koson built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Machiques and Koson both became progressively more disconnected, while Chust fluctuated in connectivity. Machiques and Chust have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
