All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, El Vigía's incremental SNDi rose from 3.54 to 3.64 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, El Vigía ranked 1st out of 2 cities in Mérida and 32nd out of 70 in Venezuela as of 2020.

In new street additions, El Vigía and Unchahar both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Bhatkal built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Notably, El Vigía had a more sprawly network than Unchahar in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
