The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with El Tocuyo plotted against Lara and Venezuela. The SNDi of new construction in El Tocuyo rose steadily, compared to Lara which rose steadily and Venezuela which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, El Tocuyo's incremental SNDi rose from 4.51 to 5.51 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, El Tocuyo ranked 5th out of 7 cities in Lara and 37th out of 70 in Venezuela as of 2020.

In new street additions, El Tocuyo and Bandaragama both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Kwale built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. El Tocuyo and Bandaragama have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
