The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Caracas plotted against Distrito Capital and Venezuela. The SNDi of new construction in Caracas rose steadily, compared to Distrito Capital which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Venezuela which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Caracas's incremental SNDi rose from 8.66 to 10.37 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Caracas ranked 1st out of 1 cities in Distrito Capital and 67th out of 70 in Venezuela as of 2020.

Caracas, Semarang, and Nagpur all built increasingly disconnected streets over time in new street construction. The same pattern holds for the full street network.
