The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Gulistan plotted against Sirdaryo and Uzbekistan. The SNDi of new construction in Gulistan followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Sirdaryo which rose steadily and Uzbekistan which rose steadily. Most recently, Gulistan's incremental SNDi rose from 4.41 to 5.18 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Gulistan ranked 1st out of 2 cities in Sirdaryo and 57th out of 72 in Uzbekistan as of 2020.

In new street additions, Gulistan and KwaNobuhle both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Pangsha built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Gulistan and KwaNobuhle both became progressively more disconnected, while Pangsha became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Gulistan and Pangsha have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
