The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Alafaya plotted against Florida and United States. The SNDi of new construction in Alafaya followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Florida which rose steadily and United States which peaked in 1991-2005. Most recently, Alafaya's incremental SNDi fell from 7.57 to 7.46 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Alafaya ranked 26th out of 27 cities in Florida and 332nd out of 333 in United States as of 2020.

In new street additions, Alafaya and Songmen both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Machakos built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Alafaya became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards, while Songmen became progressively more connected and Machakos became progressively more disconnected. Alafaya and Songmen have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
