Rancho las Perris in context: Street-network sprawl trends

The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Rancho las Perris plotted against California and United States. The SNDi of new construction in Rancho las Perris followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to California which peaked in 1976-1990 and United States which peaked in 1991-2005. Most recently, Rancho las Perris's incremental SNDi rose from 3.4 to 3.88 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Rancho las Perris ranked 30th out of 60 cities in California and 216th out of 333 in United States as of 2020.

In new street additions, Rancho las Perris fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Tari built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns and Ibri built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full network, Rancho las Perris and Tari both became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards, while Ibri grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Rancho las Perris and Ibri have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
