The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with ICAD I plotted against Abu Dhabi and United Arab Emirates. The SNDi of new construction in ICAD I followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Abu Dhabi which peaked in 1991-2005 and United Arab Emirates which rose steadily. Most recently, ICAD I's incremental SNDi rose from 2.59 to 2.94 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, ICAD I ranked 6th out of 9 cities in Abu Dhabi and 10th out of 15 in United Arab Emirates as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, ICAD I and Pingliang both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Thakurdwara built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Thakurdwara and Pingliang both became progressively more disconnected, while ICAD I fluctuated in connectivity. ICAD I and Thakurdwara have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
