The SNDi of new construction in Mbarara rose steadily, while Uganda was at its lowest in 1976-1990. Most recently, Mbarara's incremental SNDi rose from 4.66 to 4.68 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Mbarara ranked 17th out of 25 in Uganda as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Mbarara and Baripada both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Quanjiao built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Mbarara and Baripada both became progressively more disconnected, while Quanjiao grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Mbarara and Quanjiao have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
