The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Akçakale plotted against Sanliurfa and Turkey. The SNDi of new construction in Akçakale fell steadily, compared to Sanliurfa which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Turkey which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Akçakale's incremental SNDi fell from 2.32 to 1.82 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Akçakale ranked 6th out of 8 cities in Sanliurfa and 110th out of 174 in Turkey as of 2020.

In new street additions, Akçakale built increasingly connected streets over time, while Kandukur built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns and Taitung built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Akçakale became progressively more connected, while Kandukur became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards and Taitung became progressively more disconnected. Akçakale and Taitung have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
