The SNDi of new construction in Gölcük peaked in 1976-1990, compared to Kocaeli which rose steadily and Turkey which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. In new street additions, Gölcük built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Mengyin fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Kara built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Gölcük grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Mengyin fluctuated in connectivity and Kara became progressively more disconnected. Notably, Gölcük had a more sprawly network than Kara in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
