The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Xinying District plotted against Tainan and Taiwan. The SNDi of new construction in Xinying District rose steadily, compared to Tainan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Taiwan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Xinying District's incremental SNDi rose from 1.75 to 2.15 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Xinying District ranked 2nd out of 2 cities in Tainan and 2nd out of 21 in Taiwan as of 2020.

In new street additions, Xinying District and Katha both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Pambeguwa built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Xinying District and Pambeguwa have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
