The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with As Safirah plotted against Aleppo and Syria. The SNDi of new construction in As Safirah peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Aleppo which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Syria which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, As Safirah's incremental SNDi fell from 3.51 to 3.19 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, As Safirah ranked 6th out of 7 cities in Aleppo and 31st out of 39 in Syria as of 2020.

In new street additions, As Safirah built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Bhalki built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns and Xinglong fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, As Safirah became progressively more disconnected, while Bhalki became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards and Xinglong fluctuated in connectivity. As Safirah and Xinglong have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
