The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Basel plotted against Basel-Landschaft and Switzerland. The SNDi of new construction in Basel followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Basel-Landschaft which rose steadily and Switzerland which rose steadily. Most recently, Basel's incremental SNDi rose from 2.04 to 2.44 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Basel ranked 1st out of 1 cities in Basel-Landschaft and 2nd out of 17 in Switzerland as of 2020.

In new street additions, Basel and Chhindwara both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Greater Noida built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Basel and Chhindwara both became progressively more disconnected, while Greater Noida became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards. Basel and Chhindwara have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
