The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Nyala plotted against South Darfur and Sudan. The SNDi of new construction in Nyala peaked in 1976-1990, compared to South Darfur which peaked in 1991-2005 and Sudan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Nyala's incremental SNDi fell from 1.59 to 1.53 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Nyala ranked 3rd out of 6 cities in South Darfur and 38th out of 78 in Sudan as of 2020.

In new street additions, Nyala and Sokoto both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Amravati built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Nyala and Amravati both became progressively more disconnected, while Sokoto grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Nyala and Amravati have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
