The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Atbara plotted against River Nile and Sudan. The SNDi of new construction in Atbara rose steadily, compared to River Nile which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Sudan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Atbara's incremental SNDi rose from 2.62 to 2.92 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. While Bhawanipatna and Ijagbo Offa both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, Atbara built increasingly disconnected streets over time in new street additions. For the full network, Atbara and Bhawanipatna both became progressively more disconnected, while Ijagbo Offa fluctuated in connectivity. Atbara and Bhawanipatna have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
