The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Kebkabiya plotted against North Darfur and Sudan. While North Darfur and Sudan both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Kebkabiya's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Kebkabiya's incremental SNDi rose from 1.34 to 1.67 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Kebkabiya ranked 3rd out of 9 cities in North Darfur and 24th out of 78 in Sudan as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Kebkabiya and Leiyang both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Tongliao built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Kebkabiya and Leiyang both fluctuated in connectivity, while Tongliao became progressively more disconnected. Kebkabiya and Tongliao have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
