The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with El Hawata plotted against Al Qadarif and Sudan. The SNDi of new construction in El Hawata rose steadily, compared to Al Qadarif which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Sudan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, El Hawata's incremental SNDi rose from 1.1 to 1.46 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In new street additions, El Hawata built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Tumed Right Banner built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Khair fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, El Hawata and Tumed Right Banner both became progressively more disconnected, while Khair fluctuated in connectivity. El Hawata and Khair have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
