What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Vigo built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Ya'an fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Keren built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Ya'an and Keren both became progressively more disconnected, while Vigo grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Vigo and Ya'an have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
