The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Mataró plotted against Cataluña and Spain. The SNDi of new construction in Mataró rose steadily, compared to Cataluña which rose steadily and Spain which peaked in 1976-1990. Most recently, Mataró's incremental SNDi rose from 1.9 to 2.41 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Mataró ranked 3rd out of 15 cities in Cataluña and 13th out of 85 in Spain as of 2020.

While Madaoua and Poipet both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, Mataró built increasingly disconnected streets over time in new street additions. For the full network, Mataró and Madaoua both became progressively more disconnected, while Poipet fluctuated in connectivity. Mataró and Madaoua have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
