The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Kanyamazane plotted against Mpumalanga and South Africa. The SNDi of new construction in Kanyamazane followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Mpumalanga which rose steadily and South Africa which rose steadily. In new street additions, Kanyamazane and Sihui both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Quetzaltenango built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Kanyamazane and Quetzaltenango have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
