The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with eMzinoni plotted against Mpumalanga and South Africa. The SNDi of new construction in eMzinoni followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Mpumalanga which rose steadily and South Africa which rose steadily. Most recently, eMzinoni's incremental SNDi rose from 2.16 to 2.19 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, eMzinoni ranked 1st out of 13 cities in Mpumalanga and 2nd out of 81 in South Africa as of 2020.

In new street additions, eMzinoni fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Mundok built increasingly connected streets over time and Dupchachia fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, eMzinoni became progressively more disconnected, while Mundok became progressively more connected and Dupchachia fluctuated in connectivity. Notably, eMzinoni had a more connected network than Dupchachia in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
