While Togdheer and Somalia both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Burao's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Burao's incremental SNDi rose from 1.38 to 1.68 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Burao ranked 1st out of 1 cities in Togdheer and 17th out of 39 in Somalia as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Burao fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Tianshui built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns and Badaun built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Tianshui and Badaun both became progressively more disconnected, while Burao fluctuated in connectivity.
