The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Vélingara plotted against Kolda and Senegal. While Kolda and Senegal both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Vélingara's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Vélingara's incremental SNDi rose from 1.04 to 1.07 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Vélingara ranked 1st out of 3 cities in Kolda and 2nd out of 25 in Senegal as of 2020.

In new street additions, Vélingara fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Yegoryevsk built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Thiruvaiyaru built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Vélingara fluctuated in connectivity, while Yegoryevsk became progressively more disconnected and Thiruvaiyaru became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Vélingara and Yegoryevsk have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
