The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Hayy as Salihiyah plotted against Makkah and Saudi Arabia. The SNDi of new construction in Hayy as Salihiyah rose steadily, compared to Makkah which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Saudi Arabia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Hayy as Salihiyah's incremental SNDi rose from 3.24 to 3.26 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Hayy as Salihiyah ranked 2nd out of 9 cities in Makkah and 26th out of 44 in Saudi Arabia as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Hayy as Salihiyah built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Cẩm Phả built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved and Altamira fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Hayy as Salihiyah and Altamira both became progressively more disconnected, while Cẩm Phả grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Notably, Hayy as Salihiyah had a more sprawly network than Cẩm Phả in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
