The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Chita plotted against Zabaykal'ye and Russia. The SNDi of new construction in Chita followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Zabaykal'ye which peaked in 1991-2005 and Russia which rose steadily. Most recently, Chita's incremental SNDi fell from 3.95 to 2.73 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Chita ranked 1st out of 1 cities in Zabaykal'ye and 163rd out of 252 in Russia as of 2020.

In new street additions, Chita fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Pengzhou built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Salinas [Santa Elena] fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. Looking at the full network, Pengzhou and Salinas [Santa Elena] both became progressively more disconnected, while Chita became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Notably, Chita had a more sprawly network than Pengzhou in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
