Bayugan in context: Street-network sprawl trends

The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Bayugan plotted against Agusan del Sur and Philippines. The SNDi of new construction in Bayugan followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Agusan del Sur which rose steadily and Philippines which rose steadily. Most recently, Bayugan's incremental SNDi rose from 3.94 to 4.36 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Bayugan ranked 1st out of 1 cities in Agusan del Sur and 11th out of 114 in Philippines as of 2020.

In new street additions, Bayugan fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Muri fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Xinglong built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full network, Bayugan and Xinglong both became progressively more disconnected, while Muri fluctuated in connectivity. Bayugan and Muri have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
