The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Mirpur Khas plotted against Sindh and Pakistan. The SNDi of new construction in Mirpur Khas rose steadily, compared to Sindh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Pakistan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Mirpur Khas's incremental SNDi rose from 3.95 to 4.5 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Mirpur Khas ranked 24th out of 50 cities in Sindh and 88th out of 292 in Pakistan as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
Mirpur Khas, Sikar, and Karimnagar all built increasingly disconnected streets over time in new street construction. The same pattern holds for the full street network. Notably, Mirpur Khas had a more connected network than Sikar in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
