The SNDi of new construction in Shorkot followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease, compared to Punjab which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Pakistan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Shorkot's incremental SNDi fell from 4.4 to 3.41 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Shorkot ranked 100th out of 146 cities in Punjab and 172nd out of 292 in Pakistan as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
While Opole and Nahtaur both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, Shorkot fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. For the full network, Shorkot became progressively more connected, while Opole became progressively more disconnected and Nahtaur fluctuated in connectivity. Shorkot and Opole have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
