The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Parachinar plotted against Federally Administered Tribal Ar and Pakistan. While Federally Administered Tribal Ar and Pakistan both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Parachinar's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Parachinar's incremental SNDi rose from 3.93 to 4.62 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Parachinar ranked 2nd out of 8 cities in Federally Administered Tribal Ar and 187th out of 292 in Pakistan as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Parachinar and Varginha both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Ismaila built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Parachinar fluctuated in connectivity, while Ismaila became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards and Varginha became progressively more disconnected. Notably, Parachinar had a more connected network than Ismaila in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
