The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Quetta plotted against Balochistan and Pakistan. While Balochistan and Pakistan both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Quetta's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Quetta's incremental SNDi rose from 4.24 to 4.81 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Quetta ranked 16th out of 19 cities in Balochistan and 169th out of 292 in Pakistan as of 2020.

In new street additions, Quetta fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Adelaide built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Ufa built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend.
