The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Tromsø plotted against Troms and Norway. The SNDi of new construction in Tromsø followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease, compared to Troms which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Norway which rose steadily. Most recently, Tromsø's incremental SNDi fell from 3.03 to 2.7 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Tromsø ranked 1st out of 1 cities in Troms and 4th out of 8 in Norway as of 2020.

In new street additions, Tromsø fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Leo built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Murliganj built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Looking at the full network, Leo and Murliganj both became progressively more disconnected, while Tromsø fluctuated in connectivity. Tromsø and Murliganj have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
