The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Koksan plotted against Hwanghae-bukto and North Korea. The SNDi of new construction in Koksan followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Hwanghae-bukto which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and North Korea which peaked in 1976-1990. Most recently, Koksan's incremental SNDi rose from 4.24 to 4.56 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Koksan ranked 3rd out of 6 cities in Hwanghae-bukto and 39th out of 92 in North Korea as of 2020.

In new street additions, Koksan and Qingzhen both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while হাসানগঞ্জ fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Koksan became progressively more disconnected, while হাসানগঞ্জ fluctuated in connectivity and Qingzhen fluctuated in connectivity. Koksan and হাসানগঞ্জ have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
