The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Gwolong plotted against Plateau and Nigeria. The SNDi of new construction in Gwolong rose steadily, compared to Plateau which rose steadily and Nigeria which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Gwolong's incremental SNDi rose from 4.14 to 7.58 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Gwolong ranked 7th out of 8 cities in Plateau and 254th out of 422 in Nigeria as of 2020.

Gwolong, Kyauktaw, and Tepatitlán all built increasingly disconnected streets over time in new street construction. The same pattern holds for the full street network. Notably, Gwolong had a more connected network than Kyauktaw in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
