The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Kontagora plotted against Niger and Nigeria. The SNDi of new construction in Kontagora followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease, compared to Niger which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Nigeria which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Kontagora's incremental SNDi fell from 2.11 to 2.02 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Kontagora ranked 3rd out of 13 cities in Niger and 83rd out of 422 in Nigeria as of 2020.

In new street additions, Kontagora fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Huozhou fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Silopi built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Kontagora fluctuated in connectivity, while Huozhou fluctuated in connectivity and Silopi became progressively more connected. Notably, Kontagora had a more connected network than Silopi in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
