The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Tambawal plotted against Kebbi and Nigeria. The SNDi of new construction in Tambawal rose steadily, compared to Kebbi which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Nigeria which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Tambawal's incremental SNDi rose from 3.18 to 3.52 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Tambawal ranked 11th out of 12 cities in Kebbi and 204th out of 422 in Nigeria as of 2020.

In new street additions, Tambawal built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Tamaské Sabon Guida fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Kamiji built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Tambawal became progressively more disconnected, while Tamaské Sabon Guida became progressively more connected and Kamiji became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards. Tambawal and Tamaské Sabon Guida have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
