The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Zango plotted against Kano and Nigeria. The SNDi of new construction in Zango rose steadily, compared to Kano which rose steadily and Nigeria which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Zango's incremental SNDi rose from 2.49 to 2.53 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Zango ranked 10th out of 14 cities in Kano as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Zango and جوانرود both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Bourges built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Looking at the full network, Bourges and جوانرود both became progressively more disconnected, while Zango grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Notably, Zango had a more sprawly network than Bourges in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
