The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Yanbarau plotted against Kano and Nigeria. The SNDi of new construction in Yanbarau rose steadily, compared to Kano which rose steadily and Nigeria which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Yanbarau's incremental SNDi rose from 2.14 to 2.61 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Yanbarau ranked 5th out of 14 cities in Kano and 51st out of 422 in Nigeria as of 2020.

In new street additions, Yanbarau built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Tiruttani fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Dinga built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Yanbarau became progressively more disconnected, while Tiruttani fluctuated in connectivity and Dinga became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Yanbarau and Tiruttani have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
