The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Maigatari plotted against Jigawa and Nigeria. While Jigawa and Nigeria both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Maigatari's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Maigatari's incremental SNDi rose from 1.07 to 2.02 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Maigatari ranked 4th out of 11 cities in Jigawa and 36th out of 422 in Nigeria as of 2020.

In new street additions, Maigatari and Tolitoli both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Phu Xuyen built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Maigatari fluctuated in connectivity, while Tolitoli became progressively more disconnected and Phu Xuyen became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards.
