The SNDi of new construction in Birnin Kudu peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Jigawa which peaked in 1976-1990 and Nigeria which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. In new street additions, Birnin Kudu built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Abnud built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Chakdaha built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Birnin Kudu and Abnud both became progressively more disconnected, while Chakdaha became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Birnin Kudu and Chakdaha have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
